  1. Show pictures of the important western festivals to teach the new words. Discuss with the Ss how people celebrate them
  2.Then show the picture about Halloween on the screen to check whether they know the festival.
  3.Ask students to look at the comic trip and answer the following questions: Why is Eddie so happy? What does Hobo look like in picture 3?What does Hobo look like in picture 4?

Show students the pictures of festivals and revise the names of festivals . Then ask what their favourite festivals are and the reasons.
  1. Show a pictures about a pumpkin lantern and ask “When do people make pumpkin lanterns?” (At Halloween.) Today we’re going to learn something about Halloween. In China, we do not celebrate it. But in the USA, people celebrate it. Do you want to know what they do on that day? Please open your books and turn to page
