Learning Objectives: s

  1. Learn the new word “lesson” and practice the phrases (study for a test, help my parents, go to the doctor, visit my aunt, have a piano lesson) by talking about the pictures.
  2. Learn and practice how to make invitations and saying yes/ no to invitations and giving reasons by sentence patterns: Can you come to my party on Saturday afternoon? Sure, I’d love to. / Sorry, I can’t. I have to help my parents.
  3. Listening skill: focus on the target information.
  4. Oral ability: to speak English bravely.

Teaching Procedures
Stage
  1. Warm up. Teacher tells that her friend invited her to a birthday party. However, she can’t go to the party. In this way, present the topic “Can you come to my party?”. Stage
  2. Learn and practice how to make an invitation and saying yes/ no to invitations. And give reasons by talking about the picture on P.
  25. Step
  1. Students focus attention on the picture. Teacher asks students to tell what they see in the picture. During this procedure, teacher presents the phrases (study for a test, help my parents, go to the doctor, visit my aunt, have a piano lesson) one by one. Step
  2. Students read these phrases loudly after the teacher for three times. Step
  3. Students match the words with the picture. Then, the teacher checks the answers together with students. (1a) Step
  4. Oral practice: First, students read the dialogue in 1a loudly after the teacher. Then, students role play the dialogue. In this way, students know how to make invitations and say yes / no to invitations. Step
  5. Group work: students role play the dialogue in groups of 4 to practice how to make invitations and say yes/ no to invitations. (1c) Step
  6. Students make a similar dialogue in groups of
  4. Then, invite 2 groups to present their dialogue. Stage
  3. Pair-work: Students write down the reasons to say no to an invitation. Then, student A invites his partner to do something. Student B says you can’t go and tell why. (3c) Step

  2. Students read the dialogue loudly after the teacher. Step
  3. Students read the dialogue in 2 groups. Boys are A, and boys are B. Step
  4. Students make a similar dialogue with their own ideas in pairs. (3 minutes) Step

  1. Make a conclusion of how to make an invitation and saying yes/ no to an invitation. Step
  2. Homework: review the phrases.
教学反思 这堂课的重点内容是如何邀请他人参加聚会, 及如何答复他人的邀请。 现在反思起自己 的这堂课,虽然课上基本完成了既定的教学目标,但仍有值得进一步改进的地方。 比如说, 为了操练学生的英语口语, 我一遍又一遍的教他们读那些关于拒绝原因的短语 和句子。这样子,虽然也起到了让学生开口说的目的。但形式上就过于单调了,没有该具备 的趣味性,没能激起学生更大的学习兴趣。如果,我能设计一个活动,让学生们通过有意义 的语境使用语言,肯定能有更好的课堂效果。比如说,我可以在班上找出几位在最近要过生 日的同学, 让他们对班上的同学发出邀请去参加他的生日聚会。 其他同学对这些邀请了一一 做出答复。他们可根据自己的意愿进行答复。这样子进行活动,对学生而言,就算得上是真 正的在使用目标语了。我想,这样子的效果肯定会比机械的教读效果好得多。以后,我一定 要多尝试任务型教学,让学生真正的使用语言去做事情。
